MtKinabalu

Dream World Resort is situated at the foot of Mount Kinabalu (4101 meters or 13455 ft), Malaysia's first "World Heritage" designated by UNESCO in December 2000 for its role as one of the world's most important biological sites.

One of the sights that sets our resort apart from many others is our most captivating view of the Mt. Kinabalu, being one of the highest mountain in Southeast Asia.

The mountain is home to a variety of flora ranging from tiny herbs, ferns and mosses, to shrubs, orchids and trees. As one travel upwards, one will also experience the changes in weather which have resulted in a diversity of wildlife.

The mountain is located within the Kinabalu Park . It's headquarters is within two hours drive from Kota Kinabalu, the capital city of Sabah . The highest peak of the mountain is known as Low's peak, named after the first person believed to have reached its peak, Sir Hugh Low.

Mountain climbers scaling Mt. Kinabalu are often amazed at the diverse flora that graces the mountain trail. On the lower part of the mountain, tracts of dipterocarp forest are found, while from altitudes of 1,000meters to 1,800meters, lower montane forest such as oaks, laurels, myrtles and conifers could be found.

At altitudes between 1,800meters and 3,200meters, mosses are found, and from 2,750-3,000meters, climbers will find scrub forests. The mountain top is almost devoid of any plants or vegetation beyond 3,700meters.

There are more than 300 bird species at the Mount Kinabalu area. There include the chestnut-capped laughingthrushes, diminutive black-capped white-eyes, Bornean Treepies, Mountain Tailorbirds and Scarlet Sunbirds.

Other attractions near by Dream World Resort are the Kinabalu Park, Desa Dairy Farm, Poring Hot Spring, Rafflesia Sites at Crocker Range Park, Sabah Tea Garden, Mesilau, Mountain Torq Via Ferrata, Mountain Kinabalu Golf Club (18-hole course) and ' tagal' Sungai Moroli, Kampung Luanti -Fish Massage.
